By Assistant Fire Chief Jason Brooks
October 7, 2013
At 5:18pm, TVFD was dispatched with Station 89 (Elverson EMS) and Medic 93 (Brandywine) for an automobile accident with entrapment on Morgantown Road in New Morgan Boro. 69-31 (B. Bailey) arrived onscene with a single vehicle into a telephone pole and confirmed the driver to be trapped. Ambulance 33 (Honey Brook EMS) and a second unit from Medic 93 were requested due to multiple patients. Rescue 69 and Engine 69-2 arrived onscene and crews began extrication of the driver and assisted EMS with care of the injured passenger that had already gotten himself out. After crews removed the vehicle's roof and moved the steering wheel, assistance was provided to 89 EMS with packaging the patient for safe removal. All patients were transported to a local trauma center for treatment of their injuries. Crews remained onscene while Caernarvon Police conducted an investigation and the vehicle was removed.
