| On Thursday evening the Twin Valley Fire Dept Volunteers attended a class in Trench Rescue Awareness. This class touched on the initial size up and precautionary actions needed when responding to a trench rescue emergency, where a worker may become trapped in a collapse or experience a medical emergency while working in one.
This class wraps up two months of training through Bucks County Community College in such fields as Trench Rescue, Water Rescue, Elevator Rescue, Wilderness Search And Rescue, and Aircraft Rescue. With the hundreds of different possible emergencies our department responds to annually, we must be training and knowledgeable in many fields. These classes help to keep our training fresh and up to date.
Our next round of classes are being scheduled and will include such classes as Hazardous Materials, CPR, AED, and Rope Rescue to name a few.
Thanks to the TVFD volunteers for donating so much of their time and energy to make the community a safer place. |
