Training,Training,Training....
By Assistant Fire Chief Jeffrey Cook
January 11, 2007
Tonight at 7:00pm the Twin Valley Fire Department had its first training excercise together. The two companies had done tons and tons of training before when we were seperate organizations(Morgantown and Elverson). Tonight was one of many to come. Training is very important to us, so in that time when the emergency call comes in, we are at the top of our game.
Training at TVFD was at a minimal for the last couple months. With trying to get the merger completed everyone was always at a meeting, there was literally a meeting every night of the week. Usually once a week or once a month all the committees would have a meeting. The commitees consisted of the Merger Committee, The Building Committee, Memberships Committee, Finance Committee, Clothing and Gear Committee and The Line Officers met every Thursday night, like I said there was alot of committees and ALOT of meetings.
The volunteers cut up two cars, simulating a car on its roof and a car on its side. Chief Witlowski and his line officers also went over the use of the junk yard dog rescue struts.
