Cub Scouts Visit the East Station for Fire Prevention
By Firefighter/EMT Kristen Bones
December 5, 2006
Elverson Pack 37 stopped by the East Station tonight for fire prevention. The Scouts were given a tour of the apparatus and tips on fire safety. They also learned about what a firefighter wears in a fire and were told to not be scared of us should they be trapped inside a burning house.
After the tour, Firefighters Gebhardt and Bones talked with the Scouts about fire safety in the home and what to do in case of an emergency. They discussed family evacuation plans, the importance of smoke detectors, how to stay safe in case of a fire, and what happens when you dial 9-1-1.
It was a fun learning experience and we hope to see everyone again next year!
