Twin Valley Fire Department Participates in Community Back-to-School Donation Event
This past weekend, the Twin Valley Fire Department was proud to participate in Anchored Ministries' annual Back-to-School Program, helping local families prepare for the upcoming school year. The event provided valuable resources to nearly 200 students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Through the generosity of community donors, registered students received brand-new backpacks filled with essential school supplies, clothing, and shoes. The program's mission is to ensure that every child starts the school year prepared and confident while helping ease the financial burden on local families.
In addition to receiving backpacks and supplies, families were invited to enjoy a shared meal and visit the Mobile Clothing Closet, where children could select outfits for the new school year. The event created a welcoming atmosphere where community organizations came together to support area students and their families.
Several organizations provided valuable services and resources during the event. The Honey Brook Lions Club offered free vision screenings for children ages 6 months through 12 years, while Elliker Financial provided free financial consultations to families. Resource tables were also available from Hopewell Church Youth Programs, Twin Valley Food Pantry, Little Mates Preschool, Brick Lane Community Church Youth Programs, Conestoga Mennonite Church Youth Programs, and MCC Youth Programs.
One of the day's most popular attractions was the Touch-a-Truck Experience, where children had the opportunity to explore a wide variety of vehicles and meet the professionals who operate them. Participating organizations included:
• Berg Construction
• Bressler's Inc.
• George E. Ley Company
• Petersheim Brothers
• Robeson Township Police Department
• Ridgewood Soils
• Rob's Towing
• Taylor Northeast
• Twin Valley Fire Department
• Elverson EMS
Twin Valley Fire Department would like to Thank Anchored Ministries and was honored to be part of this outstanding community event. A special appreciation to the event's main sponsor, Leah Raup, Esq., Realtor with Compass, whose generosity and partnership helped make the program possible. Her support played a key role in ensuring local families had access to the resources they needed before the school year begins. This event helped make a positive impact on local children and families. Events like the Back-to-School Program demonstrate the strength of our community and what can be accomplished when organizations, businesses, and volunteers work together to support the next generation. All participating organizations, sponsors, volunteers, and community members whose generosity helped ensure that nearly 200 students are equipped and ready for a successful school year.
