Winter weather Leads to Entrapment on the Pike

TVFD units along with EMS from EHBEMS were dispatched to mile marker 293.7 westbound on the turnpike for an auto accident. Utility 69-1 responded and was advised of multiple vehicles now becoming involved and possibly up to 3 commercial vehicles involved with one person entrapped. Rescue 69 responded with the upgrade along with medics and additional EMS units. Upon arrival, the crew from Utility 69-1 deployed the extrication tools, and begin working to free the driver. Lieutenant 69A set up Turnpike command and advised of multiple vehicles involved, one driver trapped w/ injuries in a tractor trailer and another person from another vehicle with injuries. Rescue 69 arrived and deployed more tools and manpowerto free the trapped driver. Crews worked together to remove the doors and roll the dash of the tractor trailer. The driver was then transferred to EMS for care.
