Improving Weather Increases Brush Fire Incidents
By TVFD
March 29, 2016
At 1:40pm, TVFD was alerted for another brush fire on Rock Run Road in Warwick. Initial reports advised of light brush on fire quickly spreading to the nearby woods, with an exposure to the house. Brush 69-1 and Engine 69-5 arrived confirming a small hillside involved and contained. Crews extinguished and overhauled the area, fighting against strong winds to prevent further advancement into the woodline. All units were then released by Chief 69.
TVFD cleared at 2:33pm.
*Reminder to use caution when open burning as the weather improves and please check with local municipal restrictions as well as wind and humidity reports.*
