By TVFD
March 19, 2016

At 7:07pm, TVFD and mutual aid companies were dispatched for a possible house fire on Lammey Road in West Nantmeal. The initial 911 call reported smoke and flames coming from a building to the rear of a residence on Lammey Road. After Chief 69 (Hornberger) and Chief 48 (King) responded, additional 911 calls advised of an updated report of a garage fire now in Glenmoore's area on Creek Road. Chief 48 stated that he had a large column of smoke showing from 2 miles away and requested Station 49 (East Brandywine) be added to the assignment. First arriving crews confirmed a fully involved garage with exposure concerns to nearby structures. Engine 48-5's crew deployed large handlines for primary fire attack, while Engine 69-1's crew utilized bumper handlines to protect exposures. Engine 69-5 provided water supply, while Rescue 69 set up for air bank and scene lighting operations. Additional units from Glenmoore, Churchtown, Honey Brook, and East Brandywine also set up for water supply operations and provided manpower at the fire scene. Fire police safely diverted traffic around the scene, while crews completed fire suppression and performed extensive overhaul of the structure. County fire marshals conducted an investigation and 69 crews remained until released by Command 48.

TVFD cleared at 9:02pm.
