At 1:08am, TVFD and mutual aid companies were dispatched to a barn fire on Chestnut Tree Road in West Nantmeal. Chief 69 (Hornberger) responded and was advised of 911 calls reporting a small attached barn fully involved that was spreading to the main barn due to high winds. Upon Chief 69's arrival and confirmation of the entire large barn now fully involved next to the home, an additional tanker task force was requested. Engines 69-1 and 69-5 arrived at the driveway to the residence immediately behind Engine 33-5 (Honey Brook), and were instructed to lay a supply line to the scene while 33's engine took initial fire attack. Engine 33-5's crew deployed multiple handlines to the rear of the barn, while Engine 69-1's crew then deployed multiple lines as well for fire attack to the front of the barn and exposure control on the adjacent home. Engine 69-5 set up for water supply at the scene, while engines from Glenmoore and Churchtown established a portable tank fill site at the end of the driveway on the main roadway. Ladder 69 and Rescue 69 staged on the main road due to limited access to the scene with water supply operations, and sent crews to assist with suppression efforts. Squad 69 and fire police from TVFD and several other agencies closed Chestnut Tree Road and diverted traffic around the area. A fill site for a tanker shuttle was set up at a nearby lake by Ludwig's Corner and Garden Spot, and additional tankers were also requested by command. Multiple mutual aid crews assisted with extensive suppression, overhaul, and water supply for several hours into late the following afternoon. An addition on the original barn and some equipment were salvaged as well as the nearby home due to an aggressive attack by all crews. Throughout operations, over 70 loads and 175,000 gallons of water were shuttled between 10 tanker trucks.

Thanks for the hard work put in by all the mutual aid volunteers, as well as Morgantown McDonald's, Giovanni's Pizza, and North Penn Canteen Services for providing food and beverage rehab. Appreciation is also extended to Martindale FC for providing an extended standby coverage to the Twin Valley area during the incident, and Berg Construction for providing heavy equipment assistance onscene.

Final units cleared at 1:24pm the next day.
