At 2:08pm, Station 64 (Norco FC) was alerted along with tankers from TVFD, Ridge and Ludwig's Corner for a barn fire on Cobb Hill Lane in North Coventry. Deputy 64 (Hipple) responded and was advised of multiple callers reporting a fully involved barn fire. After arriving on location and confirming the report, Deputy 64 requested an additional full company response from Ridge FC for assistance. Engine 69-5 arrived and assisted with water supply operations, while the crew was sent to the scene to assist crews with fire suppression and overhaul. Unfortunately during operations, a male victim was found to have perished. Proper notifications were made to the county and state fire marshals, local police and detectives, as well as the county coroner's office. Engine 69-5 remained until the arrival of additional resources to assist, and then released by command.
