Multiple Accidents Effect Intersection

At 8:03am, TVFD and EMS were dispatched to an automobile accident at Main Street and Third Ave in Caernarvon Berks. Chief 69 (Hornberger) arrived on location confirming one vehicle into a telephone pole and requested a medic unit be added due to the driver having chest pain. Ambulance 89-2 arrived and began evaluating the patient, while fire police were requested to assist in controllingtraffic. Crews from Rescue 69 and Engine 69-2 secured hazards on the vehicle and cleared up debris on the roadway. The patient was taken to a local trauma center for treatment, while 69 units remained until released by the utility company.

Units cleared at 9:28am.

At 9:48am, TVFD and EMS were again dispatched to another accident at Main Street and Third Ave in Caernarvon Berks. Chief 69 arrived reporting a box truck that struck a low hanging wire from the previous accident, bringing it down onto another vehicle. The occupants were all self extricated and stated that they were not injured. Mutual aid fire police was dispatched to assist TVFD with closing the roadway. Rescue 69 and Engine 69-2's crew established a safe area around the scene and stoodby for an extended period until the roadway was cleared.

Final units cleared at 11:44am.
