At 10:27am, TVFD was alerted to a pole down on wires in the 2900 block of Main Street in Morgantown. Units arrived onscene finding a utility pole that had decayed at the base and fallen across the roadway, bringing wires down and causing a local power outage. Fire police from TVFD, Honey Brook, and Churchtown were dispatched to close Main Street in both directions. While standing by, multiple wires began arching and caused a transformer explosion, effecting a second utility pole and causing a larger power outage. Utility crews arrived onscene and began restoring power and removing the downed pole from the roadway. After several hours, fire crews were released and Main Street was reopened, while utility crews repaired the damage off to the side of the roadway.

Units cleared at 1:51pm.
