| At 7:53 PM The Twin Valley Fire Department along with Honey Brook EMS and a Medic unit from Brandywine Hospital were dispatched for an auto accident. The accident was reported to be on fire and into the Lowe's Home Improvement Center on Crossings Boulevard in Caernarvon Township. Chief 69(K.Romig) responded and was advised by the Chester County Fire Board that they received 2 more additional 911 calls stating that the vehicle was on fire. With this information the chief immediately told fire board to upgrade the assignment to the building fire response. Minutes later Chief 69 arrived on scene and found a vehicle into the building and the fire appeared to be out. Engine 69-2 arrived next with a crew of 5 and gained excess to the subject. Crews assisted EMS and controlled the hazards to the vehicle. If it wasn't for the quick actions of the public utilizing their personal fire extinguishers, this scenario could have turn out traumatically worse than it already was. Units were on scene for 20 minutes. |
