Afternoon Entrapment in Joanna

At 12:37PM, The Twin Valley Fire Department along with Station 89 Ambulance (Elverson EMS) were dispatched to the intersection of Elverson Road and Joanna Road in Caernarvon Township Berks County, for the reported motor vehicle accident.

Deputy 69 (C. Hostetler) arrived to find one jeep through a utility pole, with a subject trapped inside. The assignment was upgraded adding a Medic from 93 (Brandywine). Rescue 69 responded with a crew of 4, followed shortly thereafter by Engine 69-2.

Firefighters stabilized the vehicle, and completed extrication in 9 minutes by removing a door, and the roll bar. Crews then assisted EMS with patient packaging. Fire police remained on scene until the utility company arrived with their own traffic control.

Units cleared at 3:30 PM.
