New Brush 69-3 is in service

After a catastrophic engine failure in our previous 68 Kaiser brush truck (owned by DCNR) we were on the search for a replacement. After months of searching, Ina cooperative effort between TVFD members and PA DCNR and Western Berks Fire Department, we are pleased to announce the new to us Brush 69-3!
Nicknamed “The Beast”, the new Brush 69-3 is also a 68 Kaiser 5 ton military 6x6 vehicle, complete with a 600 gallon tank, 500 gpm pump with draft capability, full assortment of forestry fire fighting tools and saws. It will also be equipped with a full hose load including:
400’ spare rolls 1”
100’ spare 1.5”
200’ 1.5 attack line
500’ 1” attack line
200’ 1.75 supply line
200’ 3” supply line
200’ 1” preconnected booster reel

A progressive hose line bag with all the appliances and extra hose for 3/4” and 1” (kit deploys to extend hose lines and split hose lines for mop op farther into the woods)

Members have been busy completing wiring upgrades, mechanical repairs, equipment mounting along driver & pump training.
Tonight, Brush 69-3 is back in service!
