Brush fire training

With warm weather around the corner and the fact that TVFD has already handled several brush fires over the past few weeks, we decided to invite some neighboring fire companies to go over brush fire operations. On 3/21/2021 at 9 AM that morning, members from Geigertown Fire Company and Birdsboro-Union Fire Department met at station 69. Crews traveled to a nearby location where each company went over the equipment on their brush trucks and ATVs. After learning about each other’s equipment firefighters began going over the basics of brush fires. Hands-on training commenced by crews digging fire lines with many different tools. Fire line training was followed by ATV operations including packaging and transporting patients through thick woods. We would like to thank our neighbors for joining us today as well as Conestoga Landfill for letting us use their land to train on.
