At 4:01 PM on August 8th, TVFD was dispatched to assist Birdsboro-Union Fire Department with a barn fire at 8 Six Penny Lane in Union Township, Berks County. Ladder 69, Engine 69-5 and Engine 69-1 made the response to the fire. Berks County units that were arriving on scene advised of a working fire for barn that was fully involved. Ladder 69 set up in the driveway to assist with a pump relay due to a long lay of 5 inch hose. Engine 69-5‘s crew assisted with firefighting and overhaul operations as Engine 69-5 assisted in a tanker shuttle. Engine 69-1 established a fill site at Hopewell Lake to fill tankers. Once the fire was extinguished crews helped clean up equipment. Ladder 69 cleared the scene after pumping for almost 4 hours. Both Engines cleared about an hour after Ladder 69.
