At 4:12am, TVFD and EMS were dispatched to an automobile accident involving fire on James Mill Road in Warwick. Responding units were advised of a van through a fence off the roadway that caught fire, with possibly no injuries. Chief 69 (Brooks) arrived on location confirming a large van in the middle of a field, that mostly burnt itself out prior to units arriving. The single occupant advised personnel that he was not hurt and there was a delay calling 911 after the vehicle caught fire because he did not have a phone until another vehicle came through the area. EMS evaluated the subject confirming zero injuries, and Engine 69-1's crew extinguished the remaining fire. Units remained until the State Police conducted an investigation and the towing company safely removed the vehicle. TVFD cleared at 6:18am. |
