At 5:19pm, TVFD and EMS were dispatched to an automobile accident at Route 401 and Steeplechase Drive in Elverson. Units arrived to find a two vehicle accident partially blocking the intersection. Ambulance 89-1's crew began assessing all of the occupants, while Rescue 69's crew checked the vehicles for hazards. Due to several occupants being injured, Battalion 69 (Belgarde) requested two additional ambulances to be dispatched to the scene. Fire police controlled traffic through the scene, while fire crews removed debris from the roadway, and all patients were prepared for transport to the hospital. The State Police conducted an investigation and all vehicles were cleared from the scene.
