At 5:13pm, TVFD was dispatched for RIT to assist Station 7 (Birdsboro FC) at a working house fire on Red Corner Road in Union Berks. Rescue 69 arrived and had their assignment changed by Chief 7 to assist interior crews with suppression efforts and the next due engine company will establish RIT. First arriving crews quickly knocked down a bulk of the fire and were beginning extensive interior operations as TVFD arrived. 69's crew joined several other mutual aid companies with advancing multiple handlines inside and opening up the second floor to check for extension into the attic. While operating interior, Deputy 69 found one of the homeowner's kittens suffering from smoke inhalation and passed the injured animal to a 69 junior for treatment with EMS crews. As the majority of the fire was extinguished and extension was being checked, all interior crews were evacuated due to the deteriorating and unsafe floors. Once all personnel were accounted for and regrouped in manpower staging, TVFD was redirected to assist with roof operations. After fireground operations were under control and the fire marshal and State Police began their investigation, mutual aid apparatus began to be released from the scene.

Rescue 69 cleared at 7:09pm.
