Early Morning Vehicle into a Tree

At 3:39am, TVFD and EMS were dispatched to an automobile accident on Chestnut Tree Road in West Nantmeal. While units were responding, the report was updated that the vehicle was possibly on fire and Medic 93 (Brandywine) was dispatched to assist. Ambulance 89-1 arrived confirming a single vehicle into a tree, with all subject out of the vehicle and a small engine fire had been extinguished by a passing truck driver. Engine 69-1's crew checked for any active fire, secured hazards on the vehicle, and assisted EMS with transfer of the patient to the ambulance. Rescue 69 assisted the engine with scene lighting and removal of debris from the roadway. The crews also assisted the family with removing personal belongings from the vehicle and pet sitting their two dogs until arrival of another family member to take them home. The injured subject was transferred to a local trauma center for treatment, while fire police safely directed traffic through the scene. State police conducted an investigation and released all fire units after removal of the vehicle.

Units cleared at 4:30am.
