Our members reflect today on the passing of Fire Chief Michael Romig 14 years ago. Mike had been a member of the Elverson Fire Company since 1964 and had held many positions within the company. To honor Mike and his lifetime dedication to the fire service, Elverson Fire Co voted to make him their last official Fire Chief after the merger with Morgantown Fire Co. Mike was the first elected Chief of the Twin Valley Fire Department and Engine 69-5 was dedicated in his name along with the creation of the "Micheal D. Romig Outstanding Firefighter" award in his memory. His legacy currently lives on within the firehouse through his active son Chief Engineer Darryl Romig and nephew Battalion Chief Keith Romig. Until we meet again Chief, we all miss you......
