Wednesday December 13th, the Department was alerted at 1144hrs for a vehicle fire on Pennsylvania Interstate 176 Southbound @ Mile Marker 3.0. Units were advised of a pickup truck with fire coming from the front of the vehicle. Engine 69-5 made the response with 3 personnel onboard. Upon arrival, Chief 69 (Hornberger) advised the county dispatch that they had a vehicle well off. Crew deployed a 1 3/4 inch bumper line to extinguish the fire. Utility 69-2 with a crew of 1, Fire Police Captain Cunningham , made the response not far behind Engine 69-5. Utility 69-2 set up a blocking position to ensure the safety of the personnel on the scene. Units cleared at approximately 12:50hrs.
