February 8, 2010
At 11:36AM, The Twin Valley Fire Department along with Station 33 Ambulance (Covering for Elverson EMS) were dispatched to Route 23 west of Route 345 for the auto accident with unknown injuries.
Rescue 69 made the response with a crew of four volunteers. As numerous units closed in on the location, none of the responders were able to locate the accident. Each unit took a different direction in an attempt to locate the crash. Finally Ambulance 33-1 located the accident one and a quarter miles east of Route 345, not west.
Ambulance 33-1 advised they had a two vehicle accident, a tractor trailer into a passenger car, and had a subject trapped. The assignment was upgraded adding Medic 93 from Brandywine Hospital. Rescue 69 arrived and removed both front doors, the roof, and assisted EMS with patient packaging. Sky Flightcare was requested on standby, and Station 62 dispatched to handle the landing zone assignment. The helicopter was later stood down as they were not needed.
Fire police remained on scene for some time and assisted with traffic control. All units cleared at 1:50 PM.
