House Filled with Smoke in East Nantmeal Township

At 2:13 PM, the TVFD along with Stations 73 (Ludwigs Corner) 48 (Glen Moore) 89 (Elverson EMS) and 33A (Honey Brook Ambulance) were alerted to the 200 block of Creamery Road in East Nantmeal Township for a reported house fire.
Chief 69 (C.Witkowski) was advised while responding by the Chester County Fireboard that the resident had smoke and fire coming from a wood burning stove. Chief 69 arrived and confirmed a working chimney fire in the base of the stove. The incident was scaled back and held to the TVFD units.
We remind our residents who burn wood to have their chimneys regularly cleaned by a professional cleaning service annually to prevent dangerous soot build ups.
