At 7:57am, TVFD and EMS units were dispatched to an automobile accident with entrapment at Route 10 and Elverson Road in Caernarvon Berks. Responding units were advised of a two vehicle accident with multiple patients and at least one person trapped in their vehicle. 69-31 (Bailey) arrived on location confirming entrapment and requested additional fire police be dispatched to close Route 10. EMS units from multiple agencies converged onscene and began assessing the patients and initiating treatment. Crews from Rescue 69 and Engine 69-2 stabilized the vehicles and secured hazards, while preparing to extricate the entrapped victim. All patients were safely removed and immobilized for transport to a local trauma center. Units remained on location until safe removal of the vehicles and debris, and the police investigation was completed.
