By Assistant Fire Chief Jason Brooks
March 20, 2013

At 7:07pm, Twin Valley Fire Department was dispatched to the Mountaineer Village development in Caernarvon Berks, for an automobile fire. Engine 69-2 and 69-5 responded with 7 volunteers and were advised by Chester County fireboard of reports of a fully involved pick-up truck from the police onscene. Deputy 69 (P. Hornberger) arrived on location and confirmed the report, with an exposure to the attached garage. Engine 69-2 arrived and crews began extinguishing the fire with an 1 3/4" bumper handline, as Engine 69-5's crew prepared to supply water to engine 2. Engine 5's crew was then sent inside the home to check for fire extension and begin smoke ventilation of the structure. Zero extension was found and overhaul was completed on the vehicle.

All units cleared the scene at 7:50pm.

Units: Engine 69-2; Engine 69-5; Fire Police
