By Battalion Fire Chief Jeffrey Cook
January 21, 2012

At 9:59 AM the Twin Valley Fire Department along with Elverson EMS and Medics from Brandywine Hospital were alerted for an auto accident with entrapment on the Pennsylvania Turnpike at mile marker 307 east bound.

Rescue 69 arrived and found one vehicle into the rear end of tractor trailer with one subject heavily trapped. Deputy 69(Hostetler) immediately called for the 2nd due heavy rescue. Crews went to work and removed doors, posts and attempted to push the dash. The car was basically underneath the trailer, this made the work very precise and slow going. It took crews almost 30 minutes to free the patient from the wreckage.

Rescue Company returned at 11:36 AM

Units: Rescue 69, Brush 69-1, Squad 69

Mutual Aid: Engine 48-1, Rescue 48(Glen Moore) Amulance 89-1(Elverson EMS) Medic 93-1, Medic 93-2(Brandywine Hopital)
