Fiery Motorcycle Accident On Route 10

At 7:17am, TVFD and EMS were dispatched to an accident involving fire on Route 10 in Caernarvon Berks. Responding units were advised of a motorcycle verses a dump truck, with the motorcycle reported to be on fire. Chief 69 (Brooks) arrived at the entrance of the PA Turnpike establishing "Morgantown Road Command" after confirming a motorcycle fully involved and the operator laying conscious in the roadway. Ambulance 89 arrived and began patient care on the victim. Engine 69-1's crew handled fire suppression and controlling debris. Fire police from Lancaster Station 34 (Churchtown FC) assisted on location with controlling traffic safely through the area. EMS transported the victim to a local trauma center and rendezvoused with an advanced medical unit from Berks Medic 680 (Southern Berks). Fire units remained until the police conducted an investigation and the tow company cleared the roadway.

Final units cleared at 8:02am.
