Serious Accident on Route 176

At 7:01am, TVFD and EMS were dispatched to an automobile accident on Route 176 in Caernarvon Berks. Responding units were advised that the accident was on the offramp onto Route 10 and witnesses were now reporting a subject was ejected after the vehicle rolled over. Medic 93 (Brandywine) was dispatched on the upgraded assignment as Ambulance 89-1's crew arrived onscene and began assessing the victim. An additional advanced life support unit from Berks County was requested to assist, bringing Medic 688 (Southern Berks) to the scene. Rescue 69's crew assisted with patient care and secured hazards on the vehicle, while fire police provided traffic control through the scene. Despite aggressive efforts provided by all personnel on location, the victim unfortunately succumb from extensive injuries. Units remained to assist with the State Police investigation, removal of the vehicle, and detouring traffic.
